San Francisco, California – February 25, 2012 – Achievo Chairman Dr. Robert Lee was invited to speak on a panel addressing the challenges and opportunities that come from China's transition from an export-driven economy to become the new consumption-led and innovation-oriented economy with ambitions to evolve into a leading global innovator. Dr. Lee joined a panel of subject-matter experts from global private equity, international consulting, technology, banking, and the academia. The group tackled the issue of China's changing role in the global value chain having profound implications. The country’s 5 years plan articulates the ambitious goal of China to become an “innovation oriented” society by the year 2020. In addition to acquiring capabilities and know-how from overseas markets, the Chinese government has encouraged the country to embrace innovation through a variety of policy measures. An important question is whether the country can transform itself through these measures as it is bound to face huge challenge of translating economic growth into sustainable development. SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Dec 14th, 2011 Achievo’s Senior EVP Julio Leung was invited to speak to a delegation from the Shanghai Municipal Government regarding the state of global IT/software services outsourcing. The event was hosted by China-focused advisory organizations including Garage Technology Ventures in Silicon Valley. The session took place at the Caspian Tech Center Incubator in Sunnyvale, California. The group represented a number of departments within the Shanghai Municipal Government including Commission of Commerce, Trade Zones Management Committee, Foreign Investment Development, Commission of Economic Development, Export Trade Administration, and International Business Training Center. During the session, discussions covered the state and trend of IT/software services that China can provide to global companies and organizations seeking outsourced services, as well as issues, challenges, and opportunities going forward.
